AZ-5 single arm alt-azimuth mount on StarAdventurer tripod
The AZ5 is perfect for nature obervation and visual astronomy due to its simple one-armed design. The simple design and the sensitive tracking make it suitable as a traveling-mount but also for stationary applications.
The
one-armed AZ5 mount combines the optimum geometry and comfort of the
AZ4 and the simplicity and fine movement of the AZ3-R PRONTO. It is
ideal for both nature observation and visual astronomy.
Especially the sensitive adjustment of both axes is very useful for
longer focal lengths. The AZ5 mount is set up in a few steps and very
easy to use. The mounted telescope remains balanced in all movements
from zenith to the horizon and also comes without additional
counterweight. The arm of the mount can be mounted at different angles
to optimize the mount for different needs (ornithology, panoramic
photography, viewing platform, astronomy). The vertical arm position
should be used when the instrument is placed mainly horizontally
(panoramic or natural). In the case of astronomical movements, the fine
motion gently serves to compensate for the rotation of the earth.
The
telescopes can be attached by standard Vixen prism rails, but you can
mount them through any L platforms (optionally available), spectroscopy,
binoculars and cameras.
The head is connected through the 3/8 inch adaption with a StarAdventure tripod.
