The Sky-Watcher 120/600 refracting telescope is the bigger alternative of the 102/500 telescope. The objective lens is a Fraunhofer-type system with 2 elements. The objective lens is fully multi coated and provides excellent and distortion free view. The rack and pinion focuser is made of metal and accepts 2" eyepieces and accessories (optional). At 17x magnification the field of view is large, over 4 degrees, and is ideal for observing North America-, Pelican-, Andromeda- or Veil-nebula. However the telescope is ideal for observing large and faint objects, but of course can be used to observe Moons and planets in the magnification range of 17-150x.
The AZ3 mount is stable and makes it possible to use the telescope mainly for daytime observations, but it can be use for astronomical purposes as well.
The AZ4 mount is more friendly for astronomical purposes, while equally good at terrestrical observations.
The T2 mount can be used to attach DSLR cameras with the proper adaptors, resulting in a 600mm telephoto lens. A Baader solar filter is also available.
